What services can OFDR provide to benefit my patients?
New drugs, not yet available, can improve symptoms for difficult clinical problems. Often patients cannot afford the expensive medications they need. We can serve as a new option for these patients. Generally, there is no cost to patients to participate in a study. All required procedures, physical exams, laboratory work and study medication are provided free of charge. In addition, subjects are often compensated to cover their out-of-pocket expenses such as parking or childcare.
How do I refer a patient to OFDR?
After you've seen a patient who might benefit from OFDR's research, call us with the patient's information or ask the patient to call us directly.
What can I expect if I refer a patient to OFDR?
1. A follow-up letter informing you of the outcome of your patient's screening visit, and a report from Dr. Miner at the end of the study. 2. We request your patient continues to visit you as needed during the trial and return to your care when the study is complete.
